DE ANGELIS // FOR THE KIDS
Westformers
Local places. New local heroes.
Meet the Westformers: eleven fictional characters inspired by places across the West. Look closely. You might recognise something from your own neighbourhood.
The Westformers
Terminus
Sydenham District
A train-built connector from Sydenham, Terminus keeps the crew moving and makes sure nobody gets left on the platform. Their best skill is planning the whole journey, not just racing to the next stop.

Tarneit District
Tarneit’s ute-built problem-solver turns a pile of parts into something useful. Big tyres help with the heavy work; measuring twice helps even more. Despite the name, Tailgater always leaves plenty of room for others.

Sunbury District
Sunbury’s walking sound system brings the microphone, the music and the courage to have a go. Headliner loves a big entrance, but knows the best show gives someone else their first chance on stage.

Point Cook District
A propeller-powered lookout from Point Cook, Wingman spots trouble early and helps the team find a way through. Every flight starts with a careful check. Being brave does not mean skipping the boring bits.

Niddrie District
Three car-built mates from Niddrie, Paesani solve problems as a crew. One spots the snag, one finds the tool and one gets everyone moving. They do not always agree, but nobody has to figure everything out alone.

Kororoit District
Kororoit’s heavy-duty builder has a drill arm and a surprising amount of patience. Aftershock checks what is underneath before getting stuck in. The mission is to make things stronger, not just make a bigger noise.

Footscray District
Footscray’s metal bulldog keeps an eye on the market, the river and anyone being left out. Thunderdog looks fierce, but saves the biggest bark for calling the crew together. Looking after your patch means looking after its people.

Laverton District
Laverton’s truck-built organiser keeps track of every crate, route and delivery. Nightshift notices the work happening while everyone else is asleep, and makes sure the crew shares the load. Even a robot needs a proper break.

St Albans District
St Albans’ quick-thinking street explorer knows a good shortcut and has a question for everyone. Eshon notices the small things others walk past. Their favourite trick is turning a stranger into a teammate by saying hello.

Williamstown District
Williamstown’s harbour helper is built for ropes, repairs and working together on the water. Deckhand checks the knots before giving the all-clear. A strong crew is one where everyone knows their job and looks out for the next person.

Werribee District
Werribee’s armoured rhino is the crew’s gentle heavyweight. Werribeast uses all that strength to make room for smaller creatures and protect the places they need. Sometimes the strongest move is to slow down and tread carefully.

What would your Westformer do?
Pick something near you: a train, a shop, a creek, a workshop. Turn it into a character. Give them a name and one job that makes life better for someone else.
Who would they help? What would they need to learn?
Westformers are fictional. The places on their badges are real. This page does not ask children to submit personal information.
